David Cobern
David Cobern is an experienced Chartered Legal Executive, having spent over 20 years in private practice locally. For 13 years David was employed as a Civil / Family Law litigator by a local firm. He joined Hartnell Chanot & Partners in 2002, since which time, he has specialised in family law matters.
David has extensive experience, representing clients in relation to divorce, finance and private law children matters. He represents clients in high value finance and complex children matters.
David has developed a particular area of interest relating to disputes between unmarried former partners, particularly in relation to property, financial provision for children and associated issues. This is a challenging and evolving area of law where some clients (and children) are potentially seriously disadvantaged by their circumstances. David recognises the unique range of problems faced by unmarried former partners and brings his experience and a clear common sense approach to these issues.
David joined Hartnell Chanot & Partners because he shares the firm’s values and objectives. He believes in and applies a problem solving approach, employing constructive methods of resolving family law disputes, whilst at all times keeping children at the centre and protecting the vulnerable.
