Financial settlements can be complex and may take time to complete.  

Very often financial settlements will not have been completed by the time Decree Absolute is granted. Your Solicitor will explain to you the implications of the Decree Absolute - for example with regard to National Insurance Contributions, pension entitlement and the protection of your rights to occupy the matrimonial home if it is not in joint names.
