Government talks about extending childcare

Over the next 10 years the Government is considering extending high quality universal childcare and early years provision to children as young as two.

Prime Minister Gordon Brown spoke about the need to extend universal childcare and a document was released in which the Government talks about how Nordic countries have introduced high-quality childcare and how this has increased social mobility. "High quality childcare and early years provision must be a strategic priority," it says.
