With the credit crunch upon us, if your debts are mounting, don't ignore it any longer.
There are many people who can help you organise your debts into priority (eg rent) and non-priority (eg catalogues). They can then help you talk to the people you owe money to about how much you can afford to pay to whom and when. Creditors are allowed to contact you about your debt but they are not allowed to hassle you.
Citizens Advice Bureau - produce a fantastic range of factsheets to help you deal with debt.
The National Debt Line - free information to people living in England and Wales. It also provides an information pack on dealing with debt. The line is available on Monday to Friday 9.00 - 21.00 and on Saturday 9.30. to 13.00. The National Debtline telephone number is: 0808 808 4000.
