Believed to be the first, and only, one of its kind in the South West, we have set up an in-house counselling service available to all our clients. In our experience referring clients to outside counsellors can take months on waiting lists, escalating feelings of despair and uncertainty. Clients deserve support and advice before, during, and after their separation, as it can be useful in helping them cope with strong emotions that may include crisis, traumatic loss, anger, depression and fear about an uncertain future.
With the environment of family law ever evolving, and courts advocating a more therapeutic approach to family law dispute resolution, obtaining legal advice is only one aspect of the divorce and separation process and the clients' wellbeing is foremost. Counselling allows people an opportunity to explore complex or difficult issues in a safe and confidential environment, and helps them take time out from their situation, without fear of being judged or criticised, and see it from a fresh perspective.
