Exeter Homeless Action Group has been offering housing advice for over 15 years and believes that everyone has the right to suitable, sustainable, secure and affordable housing.
Its objectives are to relieve the poverty, sickness and distress among persons within Exeter and surrounding local authority areas who are homeless or threatened with homelessness; and to empower individuals to find their own solutions by working with them to remove the obstacles that face them.
EHAG’s objectives are:
They run four projects that help tackle and resolve the causes of homelessness. These are;
Smartmove
A rent deposit guarantee scheme for people on low incomes to help them move into private rented accommodation.
Nightstop
An emergency overnight accommodation service for young people aged 16-25 yrs old.
Housing Benefit/Advice
Access housing and benefit advice via their telephone helpline or through one of their outreach surgeries.
Move-On Support Service
An accommodation finding and tenancy support service for people leaving Wonford Hospital and for ex-offenders leaving prison.
