Limitations and Statutory Charge

Limitations may apply but we will keep you informed and work in your best interest.

The LSC will impose limitations on the certificate concerning the type of work we are able to do (the scope) and the amount of legal costs we are able to incur (the cost limitation).

We are able to seek amendments to these limitations should it be necessary and we will advise you about this along the way.

Statutory Charge

If you recover or preserve any money or property whilst you have the benefit of public funding you will be required to repay the LSC the costs of your solicitor subject to certain allowances called "exemptions".

However in certain circumstances you will not be required to pay this sum immediately. We will advise you whether the statutory charge applies in your particular circumstances.
