Dangerous Dads have a Summer Camp & Canoeing event on Sat 11th & Sun 12th July (one night) at the stunning Sharpham site right next to the river.
Leave Totnes at 11am on Saturday 11th July by shared transport (Land Rover/ 4 wheel-drive) - can anyone help out?
Saturday Afternoon - set up, have lunch, exploring and games.
Saturday evening - shared meal, music, etc
Sunday morning - breakfast and mini raft-making competition (high tide 10am) - after lunch pack up.
Sunday afternoon - leave campsite by canoe for trip down river, pub visit and picnic
Canoe Adventures will be bringing 2 canoes (which seat 11 people each) - if you have your own water-transport you can use that to arrive and leave the site (you are responsible at all times on the water if you are not with the organised canoe groups). If there are a lot of people, they will split into groups so everyone has a go in the canoes. (Low tide 3.30pm)
Cost:
£15 per dad + £2 per child
2 children max, one aged 5 or under
Equipment:
If you do not have any camping equipment, do not worry - you can share as people have large tents and spare equipment. You will need to bring your own food for the weekend, plus a bit of money for the pub. Prepare for whatever the weather is forecast and bring extras as it can be windy and colder out on the river (on the other hand sun-burn can be a bigger problem on the river if it is a sunny day)
Bookings - essential: Please book early to aviod disappointment and also so I know how to arrange the canoing so we all get a good go.
You will be sent a full programme and list of things to bring once you book.
